HELVAR LAUNCHES USB TO DALI INTERFACE AND NEW WALL-MOUNTED PIR SENSOR

Helvar has introduced a new 510 USB-DALI module which offers a convenient way for programmers to connect a PC or laptop to a DALI network. Ideal for large commercial applications with multiple DALI devices, the 510 is compatible with Helvar’s Toolbox programming software for speedy commissioning and set up. Alongside this is the new 318 PIR absence/presence detector, a wall-mounted sensor that increases the versatility and appeal of the Helvar sensor range.
The 510 unit can be installed neatly in a single back box frame or into a double box frame with space for two further modules from the Helvar range (including the new 318 detector). The module is supplied with both white and black snap-on fascia panels to fit with existing Helvar systems and connects via a standard USB/Mini-B cable.
“With the growing popularity of DALI, these latest additions to the Digidim range will expand the appeal further,” says Peter Rowledge, UK Sales Manager at Helvar. “The 510 module is a much needed USB port for swift PC connection to a DALI network and the 318 gives us a wall-mount PIR sensor option that fills a gap in our range.”
Offering a discreet control of lighting loads, the 318 absence/presence detector is an effective solution when wall mounted sensors are preferred or when ceiling mounted fitting are not viable. Like the 510 unit, the 317 also fits into single gang panel.
The high-quality PIR sensor reliably detects movement, switching lights on when the space is occupied with further dimming setting also being possible if controllable loads have been installed. Further to this a manual override button is provided which can also control dimmable loads.
Both the 510 and 318 are compatible with Helvar lighting systems and both Designer™ and Digidim Toolbox™ and, once installed, will automatically register on a DALI network.
