Oblong Industries delivers Infopresence at the NEC Showcase 2016
Oblong Industries will be demonstrating its ground-breaking immersive visual collaboration solution, Mezzanine™, featuring a dynamic and interactive experience across multiple devices, display surfaces, and locations.
London (10 May, 2016) – Oblong Industries, Inc is delighted to be supporting the NEC Solutions Showcase on 18-19 May, as NEC and its partners demonstrate integrated solutions in real-life scenarios. The NEC Experience showcases a variety of technology including laser projection, projection mapping, fine pitch LED and LCD large format displays. As part of the event, Oblong’s Mezzanine solution will be set up within the ‘Corporate Experience’ arena.
On the 29th floor at Millbank Tower, London, visitors can experience real-life interactive scenarios recreating the impact of visual technology on different parts of people’s lives. This Corporate Experience area features Mezzanine at its heart, and will showcase how intelligent digital surfaces help to visualise big data; how context-aware software solutions and touch functionality enhances bi-directional communication; how videoconferencing and collaborative huddle spaces are shaping the way we work and how the Internet of Things is impacting communication.
Mezzanine is the immersive visual collaboration solution delivering Infopresence for globally connected enterprises that is changing the way teams work at companies including IBM, Accenture, NTT, and Dentsu Aegis Network.
A ‘first’ for NEC: Mezz-In Makes its Debut
The newest enhancement to Mezzanine, dubbed Mezz-In, will make its European debut at the NEC Showcase. Mezz-In enables rich collaboration for remote participants by integrating video conferencing seamlessly into the Mezzanine web client. External meeting collaborators have full visibility to the Mezzanine workspace, and the ability to upload content and control presentations, with easy screen-sharing capabilities via Chrome. Mezz-In will premiere at NEC Showcase in the UK, and then at InfoComm 2016 in June in Las Vegas. Mezz-In will be released to customers later this summer.
As Steve Pryor Oblong’s Director for EMEA Channel Sales adds, “Mezz-In is an important next step in the development of the Mezzanine platform as it provides interactive access to the shared workspace for remote participants connecting from their computer or tablet device via the internet. It is the perfect complement to Infopresence – the experience of being immersed as a group in your vital content and data – when you can’t be in the room. When collaborators have easy access to highly visual real time information in a shared digital environment, it brings powerful benefits to the organization by accelerating communication, discovery and decision-making.”
Flexibility, elasticity and choice are core to Mezzanine. There are a near endless number of screen configurations that are possible with the system, to activate the wall spaces of almost any room design. Large display screens from a number of manufacturers are qualified to operate with Mezzanine. Likewise, videoconferencing codecs from leading suppliers may be used to deliver high fidelity audio and video in parallel to the connected Mezzanine Infopresence session.
