Panasonic unveils the next generation of Heat Pump Managers

The new Heat Pump Manager (HPM) launched by Panasonic is part of a new generation of smart controllers for eco-efficient heating. The HPM which is available with or without a built in display, is a versatile, stand-alone controller for heating and domestic hot water.

Panasonic’s HPM is one of the most advanced heating control accessories to be supplied with an air to water heat pump (A2W). HPM brings together many facets of a heating system to provide centralised control of heating and/or hot water. As part of the new HPM offerings there are new controllers, both wired and wireless including an advanced touch screen display.

HPM is capable of controlling up to three A2W heat pumps in a cascade system with each system supplying up to 2 zones.  In addition it is capable integrating solar voltaic panels as well as many other functions.

The built in functionalities of the new heat pump manager include:

  • 2 x Mixed Heating Circuits
  • Floor screed dry program
  • Cascade/bivalent controller
  • Automatic switch from heat to cool mode
  • Photovoltaic / Smart Grid contact
  • Night shift
  • Internal Energy Manager
  • Trend
  • Solar collector control
  • DHW priority
  • Web-control

Not only does HPM control your heating and hot water, it also simplifies the installation. HPM is setup via the Panasonic life website, which simplifies the programming and setup requirements of the system.

By simply entering the serial number, the system automatically understands which model is being used.  By following the simple on-screen diagrams and selecting the variable that are relevant to your system the software will automatically adjust the programming to suit your installation.

The software is supplied with up to 160 pre-programmed applications / system diagrams to help, which will automatically set the required variables with no additional programming required.

From an active web browser, you can then gain access to a wealth of statistics including energy consumption management, alarm handling and maintenance.

In an effort to simplify the ordering process several standard kits will be available, which contain all the necessary accessories for various installation arrangements.

The basic Heat Pump Manager will be available from the beginning of January 2013, with additional accessories and packs coming over the following months.
