BOSTON, MA (January 7, 2013) - WilmerHale is pleased to announce that Richard Hoffman will rejoin its Boston office as a partner in the Transactional Department and Corporate and Life Sciences Groups. He has more than 25 years of corporate, legal and business development experience in the life sciences industry. Mr. Hoffman has significant expertise in establishing new companies and advising existing companies on corporate, financial and business development strategies.

“We are delighted to welcome Richard back to WilmerHale,” said Susan Murley, Co-Managing Partner of WilmerHale. “Together with our existing lawyers focused in the life sciences area, his unique experience as a lawyer, consultant and entrepreneur in this industry will further strengthen our ability to provide cutting edge advice to biotechnology, medical device and pharmaceutical company clients.”

Mr. Hoffman began his career as an associate and, later, as a junior partner at Hale and Dorr LLP. “I am eager to be a part of WilmerHale’s renowned life sciences practice,” said Mr. Hoffman. “The firm recognizes my years of experience within the industry and, in turn, I am excited to rejoin WilmerHale’s extensive team of life sciences lawyers. I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues to provide superior service and counsel to our clients.”

The life sciences industry is a significant part of WilmerHale’s practice, with more than 100 of its lawyers devoting a significant portion of their practice to this industry.
