Winterhalter’s award-winning UC Series bares all at LACA 2012
Hilton Birmingham Metropole, 11 – 13 July 2012
Winterhalter will be demonstrating its warewashing expertise with experts on hand to answer any questions at LACA 2012. The special glass-fronted UC Series undercounter model enables visitors to see what goes on during a wash cycle, how it all works and how technology such as VarioPower delivers consistently good washing results every time.
The UC series is very easy to operate and look after - ideal for busy school kitchens. The machines have a single start button, which changes colour to indicate the progress of the wash cycle, and a touchscreen with simple, clear symbols and animations. Self-cleaning and decalcification programs cut down routine maintenance, while the error management system uses the touchscreen to warn operators if anything goes wrong.
The UC series’ VarioPower washing system uses elliptical wash arms and variable water pressure to ensure that the water jets spray directly onto all the dishes in both racks, giving a perfect wash throughout. To cut energy and resource consumption even further, each wash program has an optional 'Eco' mode that can save up to 11% in running costs, especially important for schools balancing their budgets.
The UC machines are available in four different sizes, with the large and extra large being most suited for schools, and four different configurations, one each for dishes, glasses and cutlery or utensils, plus the multi-purpose bistro version, which can wash glasses and dishes at the same time. The glasswashers can process up to 48 racks per hour, with racks ranging in size from 400x400mm in the smallest model to 500x540mm in the extra large. The dishwashers and Bistro machines handle up to 40 racks per hour, the cutlery or utensils washers up to 11.
Also on show is Winterhalter’s GS502 pass-through dishwasher. With a capacity of up to 1080 dinner plates and a capability of washing up to 60 racks per hour, this machine is ideal for larger schools. The one-button control panel and colour-coded operation makes the GS502 simple to use. The GS502 can be used for pass-through or corner operation and has an automatic self-cleaning programme and blocked filter alarm, to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained at all times.
The GS502 and the UC Series are available in Energy models which offer further energy savings. The Energy models recycle exhaust heat from the steam and hot wastewater and return it to heat the incoming cold water. This not only slashes heating costs, but by condensing the steam, there is no need for a separate extractor as very little steam escapes from the machine.
