With the decision to employ WoodWing´s integrated publishing and DAM environment, the Mizzima Media Group in Myanmar gears up for the strong growth media and publishing industry in the country.

Zaandam, The Netherlands (February 13, 2014) – Established in 1998 as an exile-based media organization in New Delhi, India, by three veterans of Myanmar’s prodemocracy uprising, the Mizzima Media Group is now headquartered in Yangon, Myanmar’s largest city and most important commercial center.

The group publishes a daily newspaper in the Myanmar language, a weekly business magazine, airs business and sports television programs and creates websites in both the Myanmar and English language. Mizzima media products are also available on various digital platforms such as Android and Apple iOS.

Ease of use, flexibility and efficient repurposing of content
Important factors in the decision of Mizzima Media Group to select WoodWing´s solutions were their ease of use and the flexibility for deployment. Content Station, the editorial management application of WoodWing Enterprise, enables the team at Mizzima to manage the entire publication process centrally without ever leaving their familiar publishing environment. Content Station provides smart options to repurpose existing content for additional channels and to monetize the same content several times.

Accessible directly from within Content Station, WoodWing´s digital asset management solution Elvis DAM enables the team to manage the dramatically increasing number of assets such as images, videos and more, as well as to archive completed issues, keeping them available for later repurposing.

Speeding up the news flow
“We chose WoodWing´s solutions because they work well and offer everything we need for our products in both print and digital,” said Sonny Swe, CEO of the Mizzima Media Group. “From the first idea to final distribution, the new environment will definitely speed up the news flow, making everyone's life easier at the end of the day.”

The implementation will be carried out by Serious Technology, a leading WoodWing Solution Partner in Asia. “We are very excited to be working with the Mizzima Media Group and the opportunity to help them meet their goals,” said Bruce Persaud, Managing Director of Serious Technology. “The cooperation with our local partner Logistics Media Services and their knowledge of the media and publishing landscape in Myanmar has proven to be invaluable.”

“We are very pleased that we can support the Mizzima Media Group in its strong and sustainable growth in the modern multi-channel publishing world,” said Remco Koster, Managing Director of WoodWing Asia Pacific. “To remain competitive, publishers must support a broad variety of publishing channels, posing high demands for the efficiency of content creation, management and distribution processes. With our integrated solutions for print, online and digital publishing workflows as well as digital asset management, publishers of any kind can effectively address these challenges.”
