Alfa Laval – a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling – has received an order for Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchangers for an integrated refinery and petrochemical complex in China. The order value is about 90 MSEK and delivery is scheduled for 2010.

The Alfa Laval Packinox plate heat exchangers will be used in the production of mixed Xylene at a new aromatics plant in an integrated refinery and petrochemical complex in China. The produced Xylene can, among other things, be used for production of PET bottles. “The Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchanger has a unique heat transfer capacity, well suited for the high demands within the petrochemical and refinery industry,” says Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group. “Despite its massive size the Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchanger offers an unmatched compactness and energy efficiency.” Did you know that… the biggest Alfa Laval Packinox plate heat exchanger built so far is 20 meters long, has a weight of about 330 tons and is used in a chemical process to obtain high-octane liquid products used for gasoline?
