Lucknam Park Chef Adopts Local School

Report this content

Executive Chef of Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa, Hywel Jones, is very pleased to adopt the local village school in Colerne as part of his membership of the Academy of Culinary Arts. ‘Chefs Adopt a School’ is the Academy of Culinary Arts’ charitable project which aims to introduce children to ‘real’ food. Children are taught the pleasures of eating, healthy cooking and are encouraged to experiment with different ingredients for themselves. Simple healthy dishes will be made in class with fresh, seasonal meat, fish, vegetables and herbs. Hywel Jones has chosen Colerne Primary School as his first adopted school and is delighted to be putting something back into the community and industry. He then plans to adopt other local schools in the area and his native South Wales. Children will have their initial session at the hotel and the following lessons will take place at the various schools he chooses to adopt. Six miles from Bath, Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa is set in five hundred acres of gardens and parkland in the heart of the countryside. The Park restaurant offers superb Michelin star cuisine. The Spa, opened in November 2008, sets a new standard of luxury for country house hotels and is home to The Brasserie which has a wonderful open kitchen and wood-fired oven. Many awards testify to its excellence – Michelin Star, AA 5 Red Stars and the Visit Britain Gold Award.
