Axfood's sales for April 2009

Consolidated net sales for the month of April (excluding VAT) totalled SEK 2,749 m (2,660), an increase of 3.3% compared with the same period a year ago. Net sales for Group-owned stores rose 5.2% in April, with a 3.5% increase in like-for-like sales. Axfood's stores (Group-owned and Hemköp franchises) posted a 5.1% increase in sales, with a 3.5% increase in like-for-like sales.

During the period January–April 2009, sales for Group-owned stores rose 3.7%, with a 0.1% increase in like-for-like sales. Consolidated net sales amounted to SEK 10,431 m (10,155), an increase of 2.7%. Axfood's stores (Group-owned and Hemköp franchises) posted a 3.4% increase in sales, with a 0.2% increase in like-for-like sales.

Hemköp's sales (Group-owned and franchises) decreased by 1.6% during the month, with a 0.9% decrease in like-for-like sales. Accumulated sales decreased by 2.5%, with a 2.8% decrease in like-for-like sales.

Sales for Group-owned stores decreased by 6.1% during the month, with a 3.6% decrease in like-for-like sales. Accumulated sales decreased by 5.2%, with a 4.9% decrease in like-for-like sales.

Willys' sales rose 9.4% during the month, with a 5.8% increase in like-for-like sales. Accumulated sales increased by 5.7%, with a 1.7% increase in like-for-like sales.

PrisXtra's sales decreased 1.6% during the month, with an 9.7% decrease in like-for-like sales.
