Baseload Capital announces that its subsidiary, Baseload Power Japan has officially begun its fourth geothermal power operation.

The operation represents the second phase in the development of Sansui Geothermal Power Plant, in partnership with Furusato Power generation and hot spring inn Sansui.

The two operations combined will produce 700 MWh annually, equivalent to the annual power consumption of roughly 200 households.

"The fact that both operations share the same well did pose some technical challenges, such as ensuring stable power generation", said Ryuta Hiratsuka, Representative Director of Baseload Power Japan KK. "Those technical difficulties have been overcome and this renewable resource is now being used to its full potential".

As with Baseload’s recently completed geothermal plant, this fourth power plant utilizes Climeon as its supplier.

Climeon is a proud supplier to the Sansui Geothermal Power Plant in Waita, Kumamoto. This marks our 4th HeatPower system in operation on the Japanese geothermal market,” said Veronica Wänman, Head of Geothermal & Business Development at Climeon.

"We are proud to add a second operation to Sansui Geothermal Power Plant in Waita, Kumamoto", said Pernilla Wihlborg, COO of Baseload Capital. "This represents another step towards our vision of a planet in balance".
