Vinnova decides to grant 2 MSEK to Bayn Europe, to fund deepened industrial research on processes for the production of sugar replacements.

Bayn Europe has been manufacturing and selling the sweetened fibre product EUREBA®. This product can replace sugar without further reformulations in areas as varied as ice cream, yoghurt, chocolate, confectionery and health products.

The production process, which Bayn has developed and for which a patent application has been submitted, guarantees a homogeneous product of very high quality. In the continued work with improvement of the process, the company will be able to lower the production costs and thereby realise lower prices to consumers, which makes it an even more attractive sugar replacement.

Thanks to Vinnova's contribution of 2 MSEK, it is not only possible to construct a reactor on a pilot scale, but also to strengthen the analysis capacity with, among other things, an electron microscope. This will increase the possibilities to quickly test new formulations and final products.
