Monobank is pleased to announce the launch of its credit card platform, a combined credit card and mobile payment application, which is now being adopted by customers in Norway. The combined Monocard and Mono Pay app expands Monobank's digital consumer offering and engages customers with breakthrough functionality.

"People want safe and easy-to-use banking and shopping solutions to improve their digital experiences. Our credit card platform with the Monocard and Mono Pay app provides that by combining the traditional credit card with a mobile payment app. It also makes it easier for users to keep track of their purchases and private economy", says Bent Gjendem, CEO of Monobank ASA. "We can already see that our customers appreciate the solution."

Monobank will approach partners that can distribute the in-house developed credit card and app solution. A key element of Monobank's strategy is to leverage its established position in digital consumer banking to develop innovative fintech solutions for loans, deposits and credit cards that improve customers' banking and shopping experience. Monobank's ambition is to rapidly roll-out and scale new and relevant solutions through its customers and partners.

Monobank will, in cooperation with Scandinavia's largest regional airline Widerøe, launch a Widerøe branded credit card based on the new platform in September this year, as previously announced.

"We look forward to seeing our platform with  Monocard and the Mono Pay app adopted by our own customers and by our partners. We truly believe this is a breakthrough innovation in the digital consumer banking market", says Bent Gjendem, CEO of Monobank ASA.
