Staff, relatives and friends of Bupa’s Field House Nursing Home, Townsend Road, Harpenden, Hertfordshire, held a quiz night to raise funds for Starlight Children’s Foundation. Starlight Children's Foundation brightens the lives of seriously and terminally ill children by granting their wishes and providing hospital entertainment to help take their minds off the pain, fear and isolation of their illness. This annual event was organised by Martin Moran, maintenance manager. 35 staff members were joined by 10 relatives who split into teams competitively vetting for the coveted trophies. Refreshments and nibbles were served. Prizes were donated on the night and a raffle was held. The event raised £465.00 and Bupa’s Community Connections fund matched all money raised. Dorothy Allan, home manager of Bupa’s Field House Nursing Home, said: “It was a fantastic night and it is always a popular event with staff and relatives. We had a lot of fun and most importantly raised money for a valuable and worthy cause. We would like to thank everyone that attended and we are looking forward to next year’s quiz.”
