Bupa’s Puttenham Hill House, Off Hogs Back, Guildford, Surrey, recently welcomed Millers Ark Animals to the home. The mobile farm was established in 1991 by Elizabeth Miller B.A. Cantab, as an offshoot of her main farming business and has expanded steadily ever since. Residents were able to pet and handle the animals and the farm brought a variety of breeds including pigs, pigmy goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks, ducklings, kittens and chickens. Those residents unable to venture into the home’s garden were given one-on-one time with black rabbits, ginger kittens and pigmy goats who visited their rooms and the home’s lounge area. Puttenham Hill House has also recently celebrated being rated ‘Excellent’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for the care and service it gives its residents. Carolyn Whitfield, home manager at Bupa’s Puttenham Hill House, said: “The residents were overjoyed to see the variety of animals that the farm brought to the home. It was a real treat for them to be able to interact with the animals and pet them. It was a great day and we look forward to welcoming the farm back in the future.”
