Sweden is first BURGER KING® market globally to launch their plant-based burgers nationwide

Sweden is thereby the first BURGER KING® market globally with a nationwide launch of their plant-based burgers that taste just as good as usual. Following the success of the market test, REBEL WHOPPER® and REBEL CHICKEN KING™ are now available at all BURGER KING® restaurants in Sweden.

Given the success of the market test that was launched on May 22th, the burgers are now available at all BURGER KING® restaurants in Sweden. 

– It’s obvious that many of our guests want a plant-based burger with the same great flamed grilled taste experience that they are used to, and finally we can offer them just that. With the national launch now, even more people will get the chance to try our plant-based REBEL WHOPPER® and REBEL CHICKEN KING™ and see for themselves if they can taste any difference, says Daniel Schröder, Marketing Director BURGER KING® Sweden.

REBEL WHOPPER® is, “100% WHOPPER®. 0% beef.” The burger is flame grilled, as always, giving it the same unique great taste, juiciness and grill marks as the original Whopper®.

The original WHOPPER® has had the same recipe since 1957 ­– flame-grilled beef, topped with freshly sliced tomatoes and white onions, fresh lettuce, creamy mayonnaise, ketchup, and crunchy pickles on a toasted sesame seed bun.
The REBEL CHICKEN KING™ patty comes in a fresh potato bun with freshly sliced tomatoes, fresh lettuce and creamy mayonnaise.
 

REBEL WHOPPER® and REBEL CHICKEN KING™ will have the same price as a regular WHOPPER® menu of 79 SEK (local deviations may occur).

BURGER KING® has developed these products in partnership with Vivera®.
