Sales via social media increased 1,600 percent on Black Friday

Sales via social media in Bygghemma Group’s Home Furnishing segment increased approximately 1,600 percent during Black Friday week, compared with the year-earlier period. The improvement was primarily driven by a significant increase in visitor traffic from mobile devices.

“It’s very encouraging to see that the investments we’ve made in increasing our digital presence and social media activity in combination with our digital tools and ‘mobile first’ initiative have yielded such immediate results. It’s especially exciting that these sales were primarily driven by our own brands,” comments Martin Edblad, acting President and CEO of Bygghemma Group. 

Bygghemma Group’s combined investment in Black Friday in the Home Furnishing segment was based on the digital platform used by all of the division’s webstores, including leading Nordic destinations such as Chilli, Trademax, Furniturebox, Kodin1 and others. The operations share all digital competence and development and provide an unbeatable range in their markets, which include furniture, furnishings, rugs and lighting.

Bygghemma Group, the Nordic region’s largest listed consumer e-commerce group, offers a total of over 500,000 products and receives around 180 million visits generating approximately 1.9 million orders per year. Over 40 percent of sales are attributable to proprietary brands and products, but external brands are also sold.
