Vinnova awards Camanio Care research grant for 5G development

Vinnova has decided to support Camanio Care in the development of care technology for 5G, within the framework of the EU project Eureka. Camanio Care is one of seven Swedish participants within the project ”E! kluster Celtic-Plus Health5G - Future eHealth Powered by 5G” and is granted a total funding of 700 000 SEK over three years.

Camanio Care has a long-term effort regarding 5G (fifth generation networks) for connected care technology, for example in cooperation through KTH. The Vinnova decision assists in financing the further development of welfare technology at Camanio Care, to make use of the possibilities provide by 5G.

– We are convinced that 5G will lift care technology to a new level, by making connected products and services both faster and smarter. This will contribute to increased accessibility and quality in health care and home care. We are happy to be a part of this international project, cooperating internationally and get part funding through Vinnova, says Daniel Berlin, CTO at Camanio Care.

Vinnova grants funding one year at a time, but reserves money for the entire project and is intent on granting the reserved funding as long as the project plan and other conditions are followed. The project ends in 2021.
