Nottingham Jazz Singer Releases EP

Nottingham jazz singer, Campbell Bass and saxophonist, Alan Walker have come together to record an Ep entitled “Icons”. The vibrant vocal and sax collaboration stems from a musicianship that has inspired them to create a unique improvisational style, covering songs from iconic era’s tracks such as ‘Summertime’

Alfie’ which was a huge hit for the late Cilla Black and the soundtrack to the film with the same title starring Michael Caine.

‘Everyone’s Gone To The Moon’ written and a debut single by Jonathan King in 1965 selling 4.5 million around the world it reached number 4 in the UK charts

The collaboration between Bass and Walker is one of a few that Campbell has been working on this year.  Over the past decade he has honed his musical talent performing alongside very experienced and talented musicians. Although this EP consists of covers, the next project that is currently in the making will mainly feature original material written by Campbell himself and others written in collaboration with Tony Foster, Alan Walker and Mark Gamble 

Born in Nottingham, the Jazz and Swing performer started singing in bars and clubs before turning professional ten years ago. He has since performed all over the UK, also playing in Europe and America. The Prague Symphony Orchestra, Tony Hadley and Beverley Knight are on his list of great musicians he has worked alongside.

Alan Walker toured the world with Shakatak, Kenny Ball and The Supremes and composed and played music for TV and Radio. He has fronted his own band for the past twelve years.

Icons the EP is a blend of different musical styles and inspired interpretations that creates a trademark Campbell Bass sound.

Campbell is also enjoying great success as a solo artist, performing locally in wine bars, gastro pubs and restaurants, with many booking him for repeat performances, and nationally at some unique country venues.

Icons is available via a digital download, and will soon be recorded onto a CD and will be available from the website www.campbellbass.com, or at any of the shows where Campbell is performing.
