Bochum, January 2023: After the manufacturer of electric compact commercial vehicle Sevic was able to expand its management team with the addition of marketing and digitalisation expert Eric Saint-Frison in November, the company has now announced another top personnel appointment: just in time for the start of the year 2023, experienced automotive manager Henri Kirchhof will be responsible for the further product development and production of the innovative vehicles in the newly created position of Technical Director. "The production of the Sevic V500e in our plant in Bulgaria is currently running at full speed. We have already delivered the first SKD kits, i.e. partially assembled vehicles, to the US market. Now the vehicles for our customers in Europe will follow soon. We are all the more pleased to have gained Henri Kirchhof, an executive with enormous experience in vehicle construction and development," says Sevic Managing Director Alexander Brilis.

In a career spanning well over 30 years, Henri Kirchhof has been able to demonstrate his ability to innovate in several Tier 1 companies and OEMs. After various executive positions at Ford, Johnson Controls or FLEX, Kirchhof proved himself as CTO at well-known automotive suppliers such as Tajco Group as well as Senior Vice President at Street Scooter.

"No industry is currently changing as fast as the mobility industry. The new forms of propulsion in particular are reshuffling the cards in this business. New laws and directives, but also a change in user behavior and awareness are accelerating this change. I see a great opportunity here for companies that, on the one hand, offer attractively priced and high-quality concepts for this new mobility demand and, on the other hand, already anticipate possible needs of the future. Technical feasibility is a basic prerequisite for this and I am very pleased to be able to assume responsibility for precisely this important component of success at Sevic in the future," says Kirchhof.

The Sevic V500e is a compact electric commercial vehicle of the L7e-CU class. The vehicle is built in Europe and consists mainly of parts of European origin. Sevic's corporate headquarters are located in Bochum, Germany.

During the development of the compact commercial vehicle, great importance was attached to a wide range of applications and scalability. The patented cargo swap system, for example, ensures that the transport superstructures can be exchanged quickly.

The V500e is also flexible in terms of range and purchase price: the standard battery size with 16.5 kilowatt hours (kWh) and a range of up to 150 km costs 24,900 € net (plus bodywork and transfer); the long-range model with a 33-kWh battery and a range of up to 300 km (confirmed by TÜV Nord) is available for 29,500 € net plus bodywork and transfer.
