Bochum (Germany)/Milan (Italy) – 30.05.2022: Sevic, the European manufacturer of compact electric vans, is expanding its activities to Italy. There, the V500e will be distributed nationwide by Vehicles Electric Motion S.r.l., also known as VEM Green, a successful company that has been distributing high-quality cargo scooters for the micro-logistics sector since 2021.
The V500e is a compact L7e-CU class electric transporter, ideal for use in urban areas. The vehicle is built in Bulgaria, with more than 80 percent of the components used also coming from European production. Sevic's corporate headquarters are located in Bochum / Germany. Thanks to near- and reshoring, Sevic has access to an extremely stable supply chain and an excellent supply of spare parts.
During the development of the V500e, great importance was attached to a wide range of applications and scalability. For example, the SEVIC V500e is very compact and therefore very maneuverable in many urban areas, for example in the narrow centers of Italian metropolises. With a length of 3.7 meters and a width of 1.37 meters, the vehicle is just about ideal for moving through narrow Italian streets.
Thanks to the Cargo Swap system, the superstructures can also be exchanged individually. This increases the range of applications. What's more, the cargo boxes can be interchanged within two minutes. The loading and unloading process of the goods in the cargo boxes does not take place on the stationary vehicle, the box can be loaded and unloaded on site, without a waiting transporter that may still be blocking the narrow road. This significantly reduces downtime and increases efficiency.

Another advantage is that by exchanging the superstructures, users can switch from a closed transport box to a flatbed, for example, in just a few minutes. The V500e can therefore be used to combine several vehicles in one. This makes the V500e particularly attractive in areas where high efficiency and operational reliability are required within clearly calculated budgets, for example in the municipal sector or for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Focus on market leadership
The goal of Sevic and VEM is to become the market leader in the Italian market for the distribution of four-wheel electric vehicles (L7e-CU) within two years.
Roberto Quaranta, CEO of VEM S.r.l., is convinced of the potential of the V500e thanks to his experience in the field of micro logistics. VEM cargo scooters are used in many Italian cities for last-mile deliveries, where they have already won over some of the biggest players in the logistics world.
"The time is ripe, the transition to electric vehicles is not an environmental trend but a duty. In fact, the new environmental regulations in Italy stipulate that a minimum percentage of zero-emission vehicles must be used in certain activities, such as logistics and environmental protection. With VEM's current portfolio we already cover three-wheelers, now we are pleased to be able to offer our customers Sevic's compact commercial vehicle," says Roberto Quaranta.
Safety and service for Sevic vehicles will soon be provided by a large and highly efficient Italian service network. In addition to sales, VEM offers service together with the Maurelli Group. The Maurelli Group consists of 38 branches and a network of over 400 affiliated workshops throughout Italy, providing fast and highly professional after-sales service.
"We are very pleased to start our cooperation with VEM. Italy is an important market for us and for compact electric transport solutions in general. VEM's combined industry knowledge, as well as the expertise and service network they can offer their customers, are the reasons why we have entrusted them with the distribution for Italy. We look forward to redefining commercial urban mobility there as well," said Sevic General Manager Alexander Brilis.
