  • Ecomondo, the largest environmental technology and sustainability trade fair in the Mediterranean region, shows application diversity and scalability of the Sevic compact transporter
  • The L7e class electric garbage vehicle is perfect for use in narrow alleys and anywhere large disposal vehicles cannot reach

With around 70,000 visitors expected and well over 1,000 exhibitors, speakers and other companies, Ecomondo is not only the largest trade fair for circular economy, sustainability and environmental technology in the Mediterranean region but also a perfect stage for the Sevic Vk3, a compact electric vehicle for waste disposal. After a successful first day at the fair, the Italian marketer of the innovative vehicle, Vehicles Electric Motion S.r.l. (VEM Green), draws a first positive balance. "The Ecomondo is considered one of the most important trend monitors for new solutions around the big topic of sustainability. We are all the more pleased that we have received such positive feedback on our vehicles. On the very first day, several thousand visitors were able to get an idea of the innovative technology and the wide range of possible applications of the vehicle - which we are presenting here at our more than 900 square meter stand in Hall C5 as a municipal waste disposal vehicle," says Roberto Quaranta, CEO of VEM S.r.l.

Compact Electric Waste Vehicle is ideal for use in Mediterranean Cities

The basis for the Sevic Vk3 is the Sevic V500e - a compact electric commercial vehicle of the L7e-CU class, ideal for use in the narrow streets of the metropolises around the Mediterranean. The vehicle is built in Europe and consists mainly of parts of European origin. Sevic's corporate headquarters are located in Bochum, Germany. Thanks to near- and reshoring, Sevic has access to a stable supply chain and an excellent spare parts supply.

During the development of the V500e, which can travel at speeds of up to 80 km/h, great importance was attached to a wide range of applications and scalability. The patented Cargo Swap system, for example, ensures that transport superstructures can be replaced quickly. In the case of the Sevic Vk3, the vehicle has been combined with a tank that can be tilted and tipped - perfect for the collection of waste in narrow alleys and in places that are inaccessible to large refuse collection vehicles and afterwards the unloading of this waste afterwards in bigger trucks.

In addition, users can choose between many different superstructures. Variants include boxes with different options, such as sliding, rolling or folding doors, are available. In addition, various flatbeds are available. All these superstructures are simply exchanged with a standard forklift truck if required. This makes the Sevic V500e suitable for a wide range of applications and thus particularly economical.

The vehicle is also flexible in terms of range and purchase price: the standard battery size with 16.5 kilowatt hours (kWh) and a range of up to 150 km costs €24,900 net (plus bodywork and transfer); the long-range model with a 33-kWh battery and a range of up to 300 km (confirmed by TÜV Nord) is available for €29,500 net plus bodywork and transfer.

A large and extremely efficient Italian service network ensures safety and service for all aspects of the Sevic vehicles. In addition to sales, VEM offers service together with the Maurelli Group. The Maurelli Group consists of 38 branches and a network of over 400 affiliated workshops throughout Italy, providing fast and highly professional after-sales service.

Currently Sevic is working with great strides to expand its sales and service network to other Southern European countries.

At Ecomondo, Sevic experts will be available for discussions until November 11. The Sevic Vk3 waste disposal vehicle will be presented exclusively at the VEM booth in Hall C5.
