  • Multimodal vehicle platform and patented cargo swap system offers usage options for a wide range of applications
  • From garbage trucks for narrow streets in the old town to urban catering operations and mobile vending machines - the most common uses are already covered by bodies ex factory

Since the official public premiere of the Sevic V500e at the IAA Transportation in September 2022, the manufacturer with its corporate headquarters in Bochum and European production in Bulgaria has recorded high demand from a wide range of sectors. "From municipal waste disposal companies to gardening firms or restaurateurs to classic food retailers - the demand reflects the diversity of possible uses. This shows us that with our concept of a multimodal vehicle platform with many superstructures that can be exchanged within a few minutes, we seem to have hit a bull's eye," says Sevic General Manager Alexander Brilis.

More than ten different assembly options and case systems, which can be interchanged within a few minutes using the patented cargo swap system, currently ensure a high level of application benefit. Boxes with different options, such as rolling or folding doors, are available as variants. In addition, various flatbeds are available. All these superstructures are simply exchanged with a standard forklift truck if required. This makes the Sevic V500e suitable for a wide range of applications and thus particularly economical. In addition to the bodies already offered from the factory, customized systems are also available, such as a tiltable waste container, which was presented a few weeks ago by the Italian Sevic sales partner VEM S.r.l. at the Ecomondo sustainability trade fair.

Perfect for city logistics

Such utility also convinced North Rhine-Westphalian entrepreneur Dirk Fromme (e-cargo), who has developed an innovative logistics system for Bochum, Remscheid and Gladbeck that enables local retailers to make fast and secure deliveries to their local customers. "For us, the future of local and regional delivery transport clearly lies in compact electric vehicles that can go anywhere and are flexible in their application. It makes us feel very good that there is an ever-increasing choice of Sevic bodies. The body we have currently chosen is perfect in the current situation. Our company is growing, so it is important for us to think today about tomorrow's needs and possible additions to the business model. Thanks to the flexibility of the V500e, we are very well prepared for this," says Fromme.

The vehicle is also flexible in terms of range and purchase price: the standard battery size with 16.5 kilowatt hours (kWh) and a range of up to 150 km costs €24,900 net (plus body and transfer); the long-range model with a 33 kWh battery and a range of up to 300 km (confirmed by TÜV Nord) is available for €29,500 net plus body and transfer.
