The Copenhagen Call is an important step towards an ambitious, global climate treaty in December.

The Copenhagen Call is an important step towards an ambitious, global climate treaty in December. "The manifesto sends a pointed message from the participants at World Business Summit on Climate Change that immediate, substantial action and ambitious decisions are needed from the politicians when they meet at the UN climate summit in December," says DONG Energy CEO, Anders Eldrup. At the opening of the World Business Summit on Climate Change, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon urged international business leaders that are still swithering to put words into action. "At DONG Energy we are already in full swing. We have already changed our investment profile in expectation of a treaty in December 2009. This year alone, we will be inaugurating our second-generation bioethanol plant in Kalundborg and the world’s largest offshore wind farm, Horns Rev 2, " says Anders Eldrup. In the last few months, DONG Energy has decided to invest in the offshore wind farms Walney I and II, and in London Array, which, on completion, will be the world’s largest offshore wind farm. "We will work in a targeted manner to retain our position as the world’s leading player in offshore wind farms, step up the use of biomass at our power stations, and continue investing in new climate solutions, such as the electric car project ," says Anders Eldrup.
