Enics Expands Its Operations in China
Enics, one of the largest industrial electronics manufacturing services providers in the world, announced today that it has signed an agreement with Changshu Municipal and Changshu Southern Development Zone (CSDZ) authorities to start operations in Changshu, Suzhou, Greater Shanghai Area.
The importance of the Greater Shanghai Area has grown over the past years remarkably, and there is already today a tight concentration of industrial electronics OEMs in the area.
“It is our natural next step to establish our second China plant to the Suzhou area, enabling us to service our existing and new customers from close proximity with manufacturing and related services - e.g. Engineering Service, System Assembly and After Sales Services. At the same Suzhou and surrounding areas provide us large supply base to co-operate with from a close distance, enabling us to participate the continuing growth in China markets with full vigour. Our current customers have welcomed the addition of Eastern China into Enics map. This new factory gives not only the geographical advantage, but also ability to tap into the vast skill pool in the Eastern China”, says Petri Helin, Senior Vice President, CRM.
“We do see the demand for our services grow further also in China, which is the reason why we decided to expand our footprint with an additional factory in the Greater Shanghai region. The cooperation with the members of Changshu municipal government and CSDZ has been very supportive, and we found a right level of entrepreneurial spirit, proactive attitude and high professionalism. Therefore, our choice for the new location to be in CSDZ was logical. When you add the fact, that Changshu is an extremely dynamic city; with excellent educational environment and remarkably strong infrastructure, we are confident to have found the right place for our investment”, states Mr. Dirk Zimanky, President and CEO Enics AG.
The size of the new Enics site is 10.000 m2, and there is the possibility to double the floor space. The Changshu site will employee several hundred of people and it is expected to start operations within the second quarter of 2012.
