Partnership agreement between Swedbank Pay and Verifone
Swedbank Pay and Verifone have today signed a partnership agreement to deepen the cooperation to offer payment solutions to small and mid-size merchants in Sweden, Norway and Denmark
To meet the demand for bundled packages towards the retail market Swedbank Pay has agreed on a deepen cooperation with Verifone. The aim is to offer customized payment solutions to small and mid-size merchant, by combining Swedbank Pay´s card acquiring with Verifone´s terminals.
Swedbank´s new brand Swedbank Pay was introduced the 1st of October 2019. The brand and the offer Swedbank Pay are Swedbank´s answer to an increased competition. The cooperation with Verifone is an important step to offer bundled and competitive payment solutions to the market.
– We see this agreement as an important step for Swedbank Pay. Together with Verifone´s terminals we will be able to offer our merchants customized payment solutions, says Linus Singelman, CEO of PayEx and Head of Swedbank Pay.
As a part of this deal Swedbank will also divest our 49% share in Babs Paylink AB to Verifone which has been co-owned with Swedbank since 1999. The deal is to be closed during Q4 and are expected to have a marginal financial impact on Swedbank.
