Silja Europa will arrive in Turku tomorrow afternoon

The cruise ferry Silja Europa, which stands due to technical problems in Aland Archipelago will arrive in Turku tomorrow late afternoon, announced Tallink Group.

The tugboat will arrive to Silja Europa tomorrow in the early morning at 6 am and will ensure ferry’s safe passage to Turku. The estimated time of Silja Europa`s arrival to Turku is tomorrow late afternoon. Cruise ferry Silja Europa was on her way from Stockholm to Turku, when technical problems occurred. The ship is currently positioned in Aland Archipelago; there is no threat to the safety of the people on board. The technical problem lies in the rudder system and the crew is currently investigating the problem and trying to find a solution. Ship’s main engines and thrusters are working and the ship is manoeuvrable. There are 1373 passengers and 286 crew members on board. The company is offering free meals for all passengers. The next departures of Silja Europa today from Turku and tomorrow from Stockholm are cancelled and the tickets are fully refunded. Company is constantly in contact with relevant authorities. Tallink Silja apologizes for all inconveniencies. Silja Europa operates on Turku-Stockholm route with one daily departure from both destination harbours.
