New CTO for FundedByMe.
Daniel Wahlqvist, a former music industry entrepreneur turned computer engineer, has joined FundedByMe as CTO. He replaces co-founder and former CTO Arno Smit, who has taken over the important task of investor relations to focus on the FundedByMe investor base, which now boasts more than 65,000 members.
Wahlqvist, who holds a Master’s Degree in computer science from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden has spent the last six years working in the IT industry. Four of those years were spent at Microsoft and two, leading development in startups. He describes himself as a ‘50/50 mix of tech geek and business focused social guy’ and has big aspirations for the FundedByMe platform.
”My biggest challenge in this new role is to know everyday that we're doing the right things for our users – both for entrepreneurs and investors. I want to be sure that we can call ourselves Scandinavia’s number one crowdfunding platform with pride,” Wahlqvist says. ”I love challenges where the odds are on my side - that's why I chose to work with this company.”
Wahlqvist has already started recruiting more people to grow the product team and plans to combine an in-house team with an outsourced entity.
