ICA store sales during April 2009

Preliminary figures put April 2009 combined sales for ICA retailers in Sweden at SEK 7,694 million, excluding VAT, up SEK 834 million or 12.2 percent compared to the same month last year. The increase for comparable units was 11.0 percent.

Since the beginning of the year, sales excluding VAT have risen by 6.2 percent to SEK 28,680 million. For comparable units, the increase for the same period was 5.1 percent.

Breakdown of April sales for ICA stores in Sweden:

Maxi ICA Stormarknad stores reported an increase in sales of 22.0 percent to SEK 2,122 million. The increase for comparable units was 16.7 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 14.1 percent to SEK 7,738 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 8.7 percent.

ICA Kvantum stores reported a increase in sales of 10.6 percent to SEK 1,895 million. The increase for comparable units was 11.0 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 3.5 percent to SEK 7,069 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 3.9 percent.

ICA Supermarket stores reported an increase in sales of 7.6 percent to SEK 2,495 million. The increase for comparable units was 7.7 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 3.7 percent to SEK 9,454 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 3.9 percent.

ICA Nära stores reported an increase in sales of 8.7 percent to SEK 1,182 million. The increase for comparable units was 9.3 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 3.5 percent to SEK 4,420 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 4.0 percent.
