Preliminary figures put March 2009 combined sales for ICA retailers in Sweden at SEK 7,227 million, excluding VAT, up SEK 84 million or 1.2 percent compared to the same month last year. The increase for comparable units was 0.2 percent.
Since the beginning of the year, sales excluding VAT have risen by 4.2 percent to SEK 20 993 million. For comparable units, the increase for the same period was 3.1 percent.
Breakdown of March sales for ICA stores in Sweden:
Maxi ICA Stormarknad stores reported an increase in sales of 6.1 percent to SEK 1,928 million. The increase for comparable units was 1.1 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 11.3 percent to SEK 5,616 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 6.0 percent.
ICA Kvantum stores reported a decrease in sales of 2.0 percent to SEK 1,776 million. The decrease for comparable units was 1.6 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 1.1 percent to SEK 5,174 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 1.5 percent.
ICA Supermarket stores reported an increase in sales of 0.3 percent to SEK 2,397 million. The increase for comparable units was 0.6 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 2.4 percent to SEK 6,965 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 2.7 percent.
ICA Nära stores reported an increase in sales of 0.1 percent to SEK 1,125 million. The increase for comparable units was 0.6 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 1.7 percent to SEK 3,237 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 2.2 percent.
