ICA store sales during October 2009

Preliminary figures put October 2009 combined sales for ICA retailers in Sweden at SEK 7,520 million, excluding VAT, up SEK 310 million or 4.3 percent compared to the same month last year. The increase for comparable units was 3.4 percent.

Since the beginning of the year, sales excluding VAT have risen by 5.2 percent to SEK 74,814 million. For comparable units, the increase for the same period was 4.5 percent.

Breakdown of October sales for ICA stores in Sweden:

Maxi ICA Stormarknad stores reported an increase in sales of 8.1 percent to SEK 2,102 million. The increase for comparable units was 4.9 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 10.5 percent to SEK 20,362 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 7.3 percent.

ICA Kvantum stores reported an increase in sales of 3.1 percent to SEK 1,824 million. The increase for comparable units was 2.5 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 3.5 percent to SEK 18,027 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 3.3 percent.

ICA Supermarket stores reported an increase in sales of 3.2 percent to SEK 2,453 million. The increase for comparable units was 3.3 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 3.5 percent to SEK 24,588 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 3.7 percent.

ICA Nära stores reported an increase in sales of 1.9 percent to SEK 1,141 million. The increase for comparable units was 2.3 percent. Accumulated sales have increased by 2.8 percent to SEK 11,836 million, whilst comparable units have increased by 3.4 percent.
