CEO Håkan Jeppsson comments:

“In the third quarter, the recovery continued in Inwido’s markets, primarily in the Consumer market segment. It is primarily in the Nordic countries that we are seeing increased activity. Low interest rates combined with various government subsidies in Sweden, Denmark and Finland have favoured the renovation market.

Demand, and consequently order bookings increased in the third quarter, meaning we have been able to re-employ personnel at several production units.

Sales to the Consumer market segment now account for about two thirds of the Group’s sales. This is an increase compared to the 2008 full year and entirely in line with Inwido’s strategy of focusing on consumers who are renovating or building their own properties.

The Group reports an operating profit (EBITA) of SEK 162 million for the third quarter, an increase of 54 percent (excluding non-recurring costs in 2008). So far this year, the implemented programme of measures has reduced fixed costs by a total of approximately SEK 215 million.

It is with pleasure that I can report that Inwido achieved an operating margin of 12 percent in the third quarter despite the current recession. At the same time, we are generating strong cash flows resulting in a strengthened balance sheet. We now expect to gradually enter a phase in which we can focus more on continued growth.

Inwido’s priorities moving ahead include continued efforts to develop our range of well-designed energy-saving and environmentally friendly products and to enhance efficiency in processes all the way from purchasing to the customer. We will also continue to focus on working capital and the balance sheet with a view to strengthening our finances and making room for continued aggressive ventures.”
