Lufthansa awarded four awards in Monocle’s ‘Travel Top Fifty’

London, 19 November 2009 Lufthansa awarded four awards in Monocle’s ‘Travel Top Fifty’ Monocle’s highly anticipated ‘Travel Top Fifty’ survey hits newsstands this Thursday 19th November. Utilising the first hand experiences of Monocle’s well travelled editorial team, the Travel Top Fifty recognises outstanding contributions to travel, ranging from “Best inflight meal” through to “Best hotel renovation”. “We vigorously scour the globe for our Travel Top Fifty survey – it helps that we get to all the main business hubs almost weekly and report from well over 100 countries every year. Lufthansa’s receipt of four of our fifty category awards reflects an intelligent, clever airline that is dedicated to service”, stated Tyler Brûlé, editor-in-chief of Monocle. Lufthansa is one of the high performers in the survey, receiving four awards: • No. 47, Best Flight Attendant Lufthansa’s First Class flight attendant, Naria Fau Wakamoto is applauded for her “poise, graceful moves and watchful eyes” on the Munich – Tokyo route. • No. 27, Best Combo in the Air Lufthansa Italia is recognised for “showing Italian counterparts how to offer a dignified non-stop service from Italy to Europe’s major cities”. • No. 07, Best Lounge Lufthansa’s Munich First Class Lounge received top billing for “removing as many obstacles as possible from the passenger experience”. • No. 05, Best Inflight Internet The introduction of Flynet into up to 100 long-haul aircraft by the beginning of 2011 cemented Lufthansa’s fourth and final Monocle commendation “We are very pleased to receive four awards in this year’s much reputed Monocle’s Top Fifty.
