Invitasjon til pressekonferanse om Europarådets torturforebyggingskomite (CPT) besøk til Norge 5. juni kl 1300
Europarådets torturforebyggingskomite (CPT) har gjennomført flere uanmeldte besøk til fengsler, sykehjem og psykiatriske institusjoner i Norge den siste uken. Forrige gang CPT besøkte Norge var i 2011.
CPT inviterer media for å informere om hvilke institusjoner de har besøkt, hva som har vært tema for undersøkelsene ved institusjonene, om komiteens arbeid og hvordan prosessen er fram til publisering av rapport med funn og anbefalinger blir offentliggjort.

Invitation to the media regarding CPTs visit to Norway
The European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) of the Council of Europe has visited for more than one week various places of deprivation of liberty (such as police establishments, prisons and a psychiatric hospital). These visits are usually unannounced. The last time the CPT came to Norway in 2011.
The CPT invites the media in Norway to inform about their visit, topics of concern and the procedure for producing and publicising their official report.
Media are invited to meet the Head of the CPT’s delegation on June 5th at 13.00 at Sivilombudsmannen, Akersgata 8, Oslo.
