Peab builds Stockholm Arena

Peab has been contracted to build the new Stockholm Arena at the Globe area. The customer is Stockhome Fastighetsförvaltning AB and the contract amounts to approximately SEK 2 billion. Stockhome Fastighetsförvaltning is owned by the City of Stockholm and they are responsible for managing and developing arenas in the Globe area. Stockholm Arena will be used for football, bandy, concerts, equestrian, exhibitions, corporate meetings and other major events. The arena will meet the FIFA and UEFA requirements for international matches. There will be 30,000 seats for football, for example, and about 40,000 at concerts. The new sports and events arena will have a unique design with retractable roof. Work will commence in early 2010 and the facility is scheduled to be ready during the autumn 2012. The project will be order reported during the second quarter 2010. - We are very proud that we have been entrusted to build Stockholm Arena.
