TAP AWARDED BY THE AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN PORTUGAL

TAP Portugal was honored by the American Chamber of Commerce in Portugal with the AmCham Tributes 2013, which acknowledge and award either personalities or organizations that have significantly contributed to strengthen the relationship between Portugal and the U.S.A..

The award presented to TAP recognizes all the work the Portuguese airline has been developing for the past 47 years (the company launched direct operations Lisbon/New York in 1966), including its premium role as an essential vehicle to bring Portugal and the U.S.A. closer, adding to reinforce the economic and commercial relationship between both countries as well as strongly promoting Portugal in the U.S.A. and the U.S.A in Portugal alike.

Currently, TAP operates to two main destinations in the U.S.A.: Newark and Miami (operations to Miami inaugurated in 2011). In 2013, TAP carried 260,000 passengers between Portugal and those two North-American destinations.
