TAP SETS NEW RECORD FOR ONLINE SALES

TAP Portugal has sold as many as 4,185 tickets at the Internet on last January 21st, thus setting a new record for the online sales in one single day at the company’s portal www.flytap.com. Additionally, in 17 days out of 31 in January, TAP outdid its previous daily record of online sales, which had been reached on January 14th last year with 3,570 reservations registered.

In 2013, the online platform increased its sales revenue in more than 17.3 per cent year on year , representing then around 15.2 per cent of TAP overall ticket sales revenue, while in 2012 the online sales had accounted for 13.7 per cent of total tickets sold.

The site www.flytap.com , launched in April 2011, had more than 13 million single visitors in 2013, who generated 35.3 million page views. More than 100,000 pages of TAP Portal are viewed every day.

Lately, TAP has been consistently investing in new technologies, thus improving and extending the range of facilities and services offered to customers online and through mobile devices. Therefore, the company enhanced the functionalities and tools made available for the customer benefit, increased its online sales and in the end grew its competitive edge.
