Stockholm 21 March 2019: The fast-growing fintech company Northmill has recruited Joakim Adolfson as the new CTO. Joakim has over fifteen years of experience from leading roles in the gaming and telecom sector and most recently held the position as Senior Development Manager at Scientific Games, a company with over 10 000 employees globally. With extensive experience working with Microsoft technology and digital innovation, both in Sweden and internationally, Joakim ́s assignment is to take Northmill ́s digital business in Sweden, Finland and Poland to the next level.

“We are proud that Joakim is joining Northmill” said Hikmet Ego, CEO at Northmill. “His strong profile and competence lay the foundation for our continuing journey in which employees and customers are at the center. We have always been in the driver’s seat when it comes to new technology and our powerful and automated platform is the heart of our organization. We are convinced that Joakim will continue to develop our IT-organization in order to deliver the best products to our customers.

The cornerstones of Joakim’s career has always been innovation, IT-operations and strategy, often during a time when the companies experienced strong growth. His career started at Sony Ericsson in different roles, among them Technical Lead, a role that was divided between Manchester and Stockholm. He has also been Head of R&D at a tech-company owned by the Playtech Group.

”I am used to working in an agile business environment in which it is important to maintain a high rate of innovation. In the fintech industry, the need to deliver competitive products that generate direct customer benefit is always great. Northmill migrated to the cloud already in 2013 and lack any legacy IT-systems, they have had an organic growth and have been profitable since day one. The company is in the middle of a very exciting journey and has the potential to become one of the most successful fintech-companies globally. In this journey, technology plays a crucial role to remain competitive by constantly delivering new and safe products to our customers”, said Joakim Adolfson.

Joakim suggests that real customer benefit happens when man and machine work side by side

“People are at the center of Northmill’s business” said Joakim. “Northmill leads through technology in order to take care of customers and create the right service and security at all levels. It appealed to me. The company understands the importance of prioritizing employees in order to increase customer satisfaction. Therefore, one of my most important tasks is to continue to attract talented and hungry people who share our vision and want to grow with us”.
