The first quarter’s good growth gives a taste of our business model’s strength. Net sales nearly doubled in the quarter, and we are now starting to see that our wireless operations are driving growth. The fiber area is also expanding, but at a slightly lower growth rate.
During my time at Sivers IMA I have never before seen such a strong customer interest, and this applies to both our business areas. Lead times can sometimes be long, but our development during the first quarter gives a taste of the potential of our business. We are involved in many exciting customers' projects and I look forward with excitement.
The strong interest in our 5G technology since MWC has led to a record number of customers evaluating our solutions, and I am convinced this will result in many future design wins. We are also seeing a record number of new sales prospects contacting us for more information regarding our unlicensed and licensed 5G technology
Winning design wins is an important part of our business process and a critical step to develop revenue in a couple of years. The evaluation kits are a first step on that journey
We are happy that we are now successfully through the design phase and hope to see the first series order in the second half of this year. To begin with orders will come within unlicensed 5G and we also expect orders for licenced 5G products when we have products ready for volume production
We have partnered with NOTE before and chose NOTE also for our 5G products as they were able to meet our high quality demands in the design process. Furthermore, we will be able to grow production capacity together with NOTE outside of Sweden as volumes ramp up
In many ways this is a perfect example of a NOTE partnership where we get involved early in the customer’s design process and thereafter, as volumes ramp up, we can continue to support the customer, both from Sweden and from even more cost-efficient sites such as China. We follow customers through the complete product lifecycle, from design to after-sales
Currently, XGS-PON makes up less than 10 percent of the total FTTH market, but estimates show XGS-PON may exceed 40 percent of the total FTTH market by 2023 and our lasers are aimed at that fast-growing, XGS-PON part of the market
Our next generation 1270nm laser chips in TO Cans address worldwide FTTH demand. The TO Can format allows vendors to test standard products for the next design cycle and meet production demand during 2020
We are breaking new ground by using the latest spectrum released in the USA and UK and we can now offer gigabit traffic with long reach alongside our partners Blu Wireless. This is a fantastic achievement by our technical teams and opens up opportunities for many new applications and use cases for this type of the technology

We are very proud to be able to release a product that will push the industry to use more cost- efficient solutions in the upcoming commercial 5G trials and deployments taking place around the world. We see a great advantage in providing a product that is probably the only product on the market that support such a wide frequency band. Our new RFIC supports 24.0 GHz to 29.5 GHz. This will help our customers to support different markets and different frequency bands using the same hardware. We are unique today with our unlicensed 5G (57-71 GHz) RFIC and it is great to be able to offer a unique offering also to the licensed 5G market.

Over the last year we have been working with Ampleon on our 5G consortium, which has resulted in a 28 GHz 5G transceiver chip that is now ready for customer testing. The current chip will be able to address the small cell and customer premises equipment (CPE) market for fixed wireless accesses and some other use cases. Now, we have also agreed with Ampleon to address the specific demand from the top tier OEMs to also offer a solution for 5G base stations
For all electronic components, it's a very important milestone to have completed this qualification. Now we can safely sell our products in volume. We are now entering a very exciting phase, where the TRX BF01 is already sold to for example CCS, which is now building unlicensed 5G systems around England in multiple locations

We are very pleased that CST Global received this framework order for pre-commercial, semiconductor devices. We are confident that we will meet the performance specification required by the customer and expect this order to be the first of many, similar sized orders going forward
The BH laser diode development project will enable CST Global to offer new products to a known high demand market. With this new capability and the last years investments in the CST Global factory in Scotland, we will further increase our abilities and broaden the addressable market.
Adding InP epitaxial overgrowth to our foundry capability brings a critical production process in-house, where previously it was out-sourced. It not only mitigates production bottlenecks, but also reduces DFB laser production times. Over the past year, we have significantly increased the capacity of our factory in Scotland to ensure our ability to deliver products worth at least MSEK 250 - 300 per year, depending on product mix.
I am excited to announce an agreement for our 5G products with yet another leading product company for our 5G products. The company has been instrumental in delivering powerful mmWave coonectivity solutions throughout the world and boasts many of the top tier operators as customers. The new VCO, that we today are manufacturing in Silicon Germanium for our WiGig and 5G chips is very important for our world-class mmWave products

We have found a good solution with one of our long-term customers on how to make our final delivery of these older radar modules. These products have been important to Sivers IMA for a long time but are now due to be phased out. Thanks to the end-of-life of these products, we will be able to add resources to increase our focus on our new products for wireless and fiber based high speed networks, which I see as important
“ROF is a very cost-effective solution, which supports 10s of kilometres of fiber connection from a Remote Radio Head to a centralized radio access base band unit pool in 5G networks. CST Global has now proven the feasibility of the 60GHz ROF transmission, which is highly supportive of the CST Global and Sivers IMA joint efforts to optimise a combined ROF, optical and mmWave solution for future 5G networks. The feasibility shows that a 200Gbps, ultra-high-speed, data communications platform for use by hyper-scale, cloud data centres, is now proven. High capacity networks of this type, with greater transmission rates and a lower cost base, will also be essential to cloud services, video-on-demand and IoT markets. It clearly shows that the CWDM, DFB lasers being developed within the SUPER 8-project are on track for full commercialization
We are pleased that CST Global’s investment in 1490nm, DFB laser development has fast-tracked its availability. The GPON market is growing quickly, especially in markets like China and India where we sold over 2 million units in 2017. Adding the new 1490nm, 2.5Gbps, GPON laser to our standard product range increases our opportunity to meet rising demand
As earlier announced, one of our motives to move our listing to Nasdaq First North was to introduce new, long term, international and institutional shareholders as shareholders of Sivers IMA. There is a big interest in 5G millimeter wave and 60 GHz WiGig solutions.
