The Mobile World Congress (MWC) will take place in Barcelona, starting February 26th, and Sivers IMA will attend the world’s largest gathering for the mobile industry to engage with customers to show and discuss around new products and the future of millimeter wave technology.

This year Sivers IMA’s presence at MWC is about two main offerings. To show and demonstrate the best performing WiGig RFIC in the market, with a unique feature set for 60 GHz WiGig infrastructure applications such as Fixed Wireless Access (FWA). Sivers IMA will also share information about the ongoing development of 5G millimeter wave products within the newly created 5G RF consortium together with world-leading partners Ampleon and Fujikura. This will be the first time Sivers IMA has a chance to openly share with selected customers what this strong combined offering means and how it can kick start their new engagement in 5G millimeter wave access technology as well as address their second generation 5G infrastructure network products.

“There is a big interest in 5G millimeter wave and 60 GHz WiGig solutions. We expect this interest to lead to a broad use of these technologies, especially for Fixed Wireless Access, which will provide gigabit to the home to many consumers already this year. Having one of our customers launching their 60 Ghz product at Mobile World Congress, makes it even more exciting”, says Anders Storm CEO of Sivers IMA and continues:

“I am very proud that we today can offer a product with exceptional RF performance, which will help our customers to differentiate their offering and provide true high performing products compared to what is available on the market today. At the MWC, we look forward to deepening our existing relationships and business with key customers and partners as well as establishing relations with new customers and partners, who have discovered the benefits and opportunities our products bring.”

The key differential features with the Sivers IMA products lie with the very high level of integration, the unique support for 57-71 GHz frequency band as well as the exceptional phase noise performance that enable the use of higher order modulation schemes (like 64QAM or even higher). Together with the higher output power, this gives higher throughput, better link budget and greater flexibility for Sivers IMA’s customers.

With the ongoing activities in the 24-29 GHz 5G band and the 60 GHz band, Sivers IMA has been established as one of the main contenders for market leadership in the millimeter waver market space and has attracted partners such as Ampleon and Fujikura. This gives a strong foothold in the strategic discussions with customers and potential partners around their best use of millimeter wave technology for infrastructure applications for the networks of today and tomorrow.

Sivers IMA will run these demonstrations and discussions with selected customers in Room 2C53MR, Hall 2 at Mobile World Congress.
