Skanska to construct hospital in Louisiana for USD 118 M, about SEK 800 M

Skanska and their joint venture partner MAPP Construction have secured the second increment of the contract for the new University Medical Center in New Orleans for the State of Louisiana. The contract amounts to USD 130 M, about SEK 884 M. Skanska’s share of the project are 90 percent, which amounts to USD 118 M, about SEK 800 M. The order will be included in the bookings for USA Building in the second quarter of 2012.

The University Medical Center will be a new, state-of-the-art academic Medical Care Campus. Major project components of the second increment of the contract include a 24,000 square meter ambulatory care facility and a 1,355 space parking garage. Work has started and the hospital is expected to open in February 2015.
