Sveafastigheter divests Boden Arena and Shopping mall
The Property Fund Sveafastigheter Fund II (”Sveafastigheter”) divests three properties in Boden to two different buyers. Boden Arena and the property Oxeln 1 (“the civic hall”) are sold to Boden municipality and the shopping mall is sold to a local investor, Björn Lindgren.
The properties which today are hosting the civic hall and the shopping mall were acquired from Boden municipality in 2006, with the pre-requisite to develop commercial areas within the property. Boden Arena, which was opened in the summer of 2008, was built and developed by Sveafastigheter with Boden municipality as tenant on long term leases.
-We are very pleased with a good cooperation with Sveafastigheter and with the acquisition which we see as an investment in the future. With this, we have secured the core business within culture and sports. Our goal is to continue with the development of Saga Kulturscen in the city as well as strengthen the event side of the business in the Arena, says Torbjörn Lidberg, the Mayor of Boden. We are very pleased with the fact that a local actor is taking over the responsibility for the shopping mall.
The shopping mall opened in 2009. The buyer Björn Lindgren has long experience from property management within Boden municipality and has also been asset management partner to Sveafastigheter for many years.

The buyers get immediate access to the properties.

We have a continuous dialogue with the municipality concerning possible future cooperation, since we still own a large portfolio of elderly care properties in Boden.
