Swedbank announces new appointments in Swedish Banking

As part of reorganising Swedbank´s Swedish Banking business unit, expanding the current four regions into six, Swedbank has appointed Johan Smedman and Marie Halling as new regional heads for the Central Region respectively the Eastern Region. In the new structure, the Swedish regional heads will have a clearer business mandate and also be part of Group Executive Management.

Johan Smedman, has since 2005 held the position as CEO of Roslagens savingsbank, and has an extensive experience within the banking and financial service sector. He has previously held leading positions at SEB within both the private and corporate sector. Marie Halling is currently Head of Consumer and Private banking at Swedbank and has a wide experience of the Swedish banking sector. She has held a number of leading positions in Swedbank´s Swedish branch office network over the past 20 years, among others as Head of Corporate banking and as Head of the Stockholm branch. In connection to the reorganisation, Peter Borsos has also been appointed Head of Communications for Swedish Banking. Peter Borsos currently serves as deputy CEO of Ålandsbanken Sverige AB. Since 2002, he has held a number of leading positions at Kaupthing Group, among others as Head of Communications in Sweden, where his responsibilities also comprised market communication. Peter Borsos will be part of Swedish banking management. The changes will come into force after the summer.
