Valmet and Koja have established an Industrial Internet ecosystem cooperation to support energy producers in improving the efficiency of their operations and maintenance. Digitalization solutions and data-based services will enable power plants to optimize their process by combining data from the equipment of both Valmet and Koja.

The cooperation combines Valmet's comprehensive technology and process optimization knowledge with Koja’s strong expertise in industrial air and gas handling solutions and fans. The companies’ solid expertise combined with plant process data will boost proactive process optimization and predictive maintenance. The combined process data is securely managed in Valmet cloud and is available for plant operators through Valmet Customer Portal.

With the cooperation, Koja will become a part of the Valmet’s Industrial Internet ecosystem and the combined process know-how will help to solve customers’ process problems more efficiently. Koja’s service professionals can seamlessly cooperate with Valmet Performance Centers in joint customer cases. As the first step of the cooperation, Valmet and Koja are working together in selected pilot cases within the energy industry.

“The target of Valmet’s Industrial Internet solutions is to consistently improve our customers’ performance and reliability. Digital ecosystem cooperation with process equipment suppliers like Koja is aimed to boost collaboration among different suppliers in the plant. Through leveraging the same equipment, process data and analytics tools we can obtain a more comprehensive real-time understanding of the customers’ asset and process performance and support them more proactively and efficiently,” says Jari Almi, Vice President, Industrial Internet, Valmet.

“Ecosystem cooperation and complementing our capabilities with Koja enables us to monitor the power plant process. A reliable operation of process fans is necessary to achieve an industry benchmark performance. By combining Valmet’s Industrial Internet capabilities, process know-how, and Koja’s in-depth understanding of the industrial process fans, we can achieve even higher availability and ensure that the fans are operating within their design ranges,” says Tuomas Petänen, Head of Energy Segment, Industrial Internet, Valmet.

“This is a unique opportunity to get involved in generating more customer value for power plant owners and operators based on process data analysis and proactive actions. We have been cooperating with Valmet for a long time and our industrial fans are widely recognized by the international market. Adding the digital dimension to the traditional process expertise and integrating the competencies of both companies will help to serve the needs of process industries also in the future. Our expectations for this ecosystem cooperation are very high,” says Pasi Lähteinen, Director of Koja Industrial solutions.
