Veidekke's subsidiary Hoffmann A/S has been awarded a contract from Randers municipality for the construction of 49 homes for the elderly, a health care centre and a parking facility in the Thors Bakke district in Randers. The value of the contract is DKK 155 million.

When the project is completed, it will consist of 49 homes for the elderly with 24-hour staffing, a 6,000 square metre health centre and a subterranean parking facility with room for 201 cars. The major challenge for the contractor and architect has been to adapt the new building to its environment, which consists of structures dating back to the Middle Ages. Hoffmann has cooperated with architect Kjær & Richter A/S and advisory architect and engineering company d.a.i. on the development of the project.

Construction will commence in March 2010, and the time ahead will be used for further planning of the project. Planned completion is December 2011.
