Veidekke to build new upper secondary school in Nydalen, Oslo

Veidekke Entreprenør AS has today signed a turnkey contract to build a new upper secondary school in Nydalen, Oslo on behalf of Avantor AS.
 
The school will be leased to Oslo municipality and will have a capacity of approx. 850 students and 100 employees. The new school is to replace the existing upper secondary schools of Grefsen and Sandaker and will provide studies in general subjects, health and social services, services and communications, a separate course for facilitated education and will additionally become the new hub school for the deaf. The school will also house a new public library and a general purpose hall.


The building will be approx 14,100 square metres in size, consisting of four above-ground floors and two underground floors. The facades will mainly consist of glass and sheet cladding. The construction started in March and the school is to be completed in the winter of 2011.
