Dorset company Trees for Rent marked the start of December with the delivery of a beautiful living pot grown tree to celebrity chef Mat Follas at The Wild Garlic restaurant in Beaminster, Dorset. Mat also took charge of two pot grown mini trees and a hand made wreath from www.treesforrent.com Co-founder of the original Trees For Rent, Peter Inch, said: “Our trees solve the annual problem of buying and then disposing of a “real” Christmas tree as we rent them to homes or businesses and then pick them up again after the Christmas festivities. Peter emphasises that the business is green in more ways than one, he says: “We believe that cutting a tree for the Christmas period is not only a waste of a beautiful product that does so much good for the environment, but also a waste of resources. All our trees on site have a purpose and we even use the trimmings from the trees to make our Christmas wreaths. “When the trees are too large to be rented out, they will either be planted on our land or offered to businesses to improve their landscape and help neutralise their carbon emissions. Because the trees are pot grown from day one, the trees have a very high success rate of being transplanted unlike any other Christmas tree.” Anyone wanting to be truly green this Christmas can either visit Trees for Rent Charminster premises or select a tree via www.treesforrent.com .
