Advanced reservations for the new Coast & Country Cottages 2011 brochure are at an all time high following another record-breaking year for bookings for the South Devon self-catering holiday company, visit: www.coastandcountry.co.uk. Launching their biggest ever brochure, with nearly 270 pages, Coast & Country Cottages is reporting a 20% increase in advance bookings for next year despite the current economic downturn. The company, which manages more than four hundred luxury self-catering holiday properties exclusively in South Devon, also experienced a record year for bookings and average rental values in 2010. Coast & Country Cottages partner Karen Jones says, “We are delighted that booking numbers for the agency have risen again this year for the ninth successive year and that advanced bookings for 2011 are at an all time high, with more repeat bookings than ever before.” Coast & Country Cottages market luxury holiday properties exclusively in the South Devon area, the southernmost tip of Devon and one of the most sought after holiday destinations in the South West. With offices in the picturesque towns of Dartmouth and Salcombe, the team’s extensive local knowledge and expertise has contributed to the company’s success. Karen Jones comments: “Although 2010 has been a challenging year and customers have been looking for last minute deals and availability, the team has risen to the challenge and worked harder than ever to encourage those thinking about booking a holiday in the UK to choose South Devon and Coast & Country Cottages, rather than anywhere else.” Coast & Country Cottages has sourced some of Devon’s most stunning and sought-after properties for the 2011 brochure, from cosy ‘chocolate box’ thatched cottages and beautifully converted barns to family seaside or country houses. The new luxury waterside apartments, The Penthouse and the Beach House at Woodside in Salcombe, boast spectacular views over the estuary, are rated 5-star by VisitBritain, and each apartment sleeps up to six people. Stylishly equipped and featuring balconies or terraces with stunning water views, the properties enjoy the use of a small private beach and decking area with a boat mooring. Available from £780 per week six sharing (or £580 for a couple) this equates to £19 per person per night based on six people sharing. Also new for 2011 is the fabulous Broad Downs Farmhouse near Salcombe which sleeps up to 12 in five bedrooms. Set in a secluded location, yet just a short drive from the area’s beautiful beaches and picturesque Salcombe, this spacious and extensively renovated but traditional farmhouse includes use of an outdoor heated pool, as well as play areas and acres of beautiful gardens to explore. Ideal for a special family gathering, it has additional services which are available to book, including a free midweek clean and housekeeper service, advance restaurant booking, and evening drop off and pick up service to and from Salcombe. Available for high season at only £3,750 per week, this equates to £45 per person per night, based on 12 sharing. Perched high above the ruins of a tiny fishing village of Hallsands, Prospect House is a former 1920s hotel with an intriguing history. It has been carefully restored and converted into stunning apartments which enjoy wonderful and dramatic sea views and includes an outdoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts and beautiful gardens. With the South West Coastal Path and the unspoilt beach at Hallsands on the doorstep, the property offers the perfect location for a relaxing break for couples or families. Coast and Country Cottages is delighted to add two more Prospect House properties to the 2011 brochure. Apartment 5 sleeps four and is rated 4-star Gold, and Start Bay Beacon sleeps five and is rated 5 stars. Apartment 5 is available from £442 per week, which equates to under £16 per person per night based on four sharing.
