SJ rewards ÅF for climate smart traveling

ÅF has been awarded SJ's diploma for climate smart traveling. Along with White Architects and Västernorrland county council, ÅF was rewarded the diploma for its way to ensure that the company's employees travel in a more environmentally friendly manner.

ÅF was given the diploma for its “dedicated, consistently driven environmental work that has created a sustainable travel pattern within the company". The diplomas were handed out during SJ's open shareholders' meeting on April 21.

-It is always nice to be recognized, says Emelie Baedecke Yllner, Travel Manager and Procurement Specialist at ÅF, and continues. We are working to create offers that match the employees' requirements and simultaneously highlight the benefits of sustainable travel. We often say that "Successful solutions are based on cooperation and collaboration," I think that SJ and ÅF relationship is a good example of that.

It is the second year that SJ hands out diplomas for environmentally smart travel. The award goes to three of SJ's corporate customers who have chosen to travel more by train to meet its environmental objectives.

- Sustainability is part of ÅF’s DNA. As an engineering and consulting company it is through the projects that we do with our clients where we make the most difference to achieve a more sustainable society. For our employees, it is important that we work on several fronts internally to reduce our carbon footprint. Therefore it is really great to get confirmation for our efforts to travel sustainably, concludes Emelie Baedecke Yllner.
