Affärsstrategerna, a Swedish venture capital company, invests in a low power DSP chip solution for the mobile communication market Affärsstrategerna AB initially invests 1.5 MSEK during the first twelve months for 55% of the shares and the management retains the rest. The initial product is a solution for full duplex echo cancellation consisting of a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) core with firmware. It is available as a soft core that can be implemented into state of the art CMOS digital processes. This solution can be used for making a complete echo cancellation ASIC chip, or can be used as an embedded block on an ASIC containing other functions as well. The combination of advanced silicon technology and the efficient solution from FreeHand Communication makes it possible to design an echo canceller with very low power consumption. Applications for this technology include all wireless communication devices that hold a speaker phone feature. For example: Mobile phones, communicators, cordless phones (DECT), wire line phones, IP-Telephony, laptop computers etc. The value added for the end user is the hands-free function with its excellent sound quality.
