Allianz Global Assistance Wins Five National Travel Industry Awards

Adding to its cache of travel industry trophies, Allianz Global Assistance USA has won five Magellan Awards from Travel Weekly, the travel industry’s most influential national trade publication. The travel insurance provider has won two Gold trophies for its TravelSmart™ mobile app, one Silver trophy for its AgentMax Online travel insurance booking platform and two Silver trophies for its AgentSmart monthly newsletter and blog.  All of the awards were in the Travel Agent and Agencies category.

In May 2016, Allianz Global Assistance launched Version 2.0 of its innovative smartphone app for travelers.  The TravelSmart™ mobile app now provides travelers with real time flight information, important medical resources, international emergency numbers, access to travel insurance information and one touch dialing to reach travel assistance and customer service.

Introduced in July 2016, the AgentSmart monthly newsletter and blog provide travel agents with thought provoking content, helpful selling tips and immediate access to training resources and downloads.

In November, Allianz rolled out an enhanced version of its award-winning AgentMax Online platform for travel agents. Enhancements included the ability to speed up customer payments by scanning credit cards using the camera on a smartphone, generate faster quotes using an improved QuoteMax tool, create detailed customized analysis and reports as well as provide product recommendations based on real-time trip information.

“We’re proud that our innovative mobile app and our outstanding travel agent resources have been recognized at this year’s Magellan Awards,” said Sarah Schneider, retail marketing manager at Allianz Global Assistance USA. “We’re dedicated to making travel insurance valuable and easy to use for both our travel agent partners and their clients, and we’re grateful that the judges have recognized our accomplishments.”

The Magellan Awards honor outstanding design, marketing and services in a broad range of travel industry segments including Hospitality, Travel Destinations, Cruise Lines, Online Travel Services, Airlines and Airports, Travel Agents and Agencies, Tour Operators and Ground Transportation.

“This year’s winners represent the most talented and creative people in not just the travel industry, but in any industry,” said Arnie Weissmann, editor in chief of Travel Weekly. “They continue to raise the bar, to inspire travel and enhance the travel experience. Their work leaves a lasting impression on our expert judges and readers.”
